To The Best Friend I Ever Had

As life goes on, we experience a ton of friendships. Many we think will last forever, but that is not always the case. Luckily for me, I was able to hold onto a special kind of friendship - my soulmate.

In eighth grade, I met the best friend I could have ever asked for. Who would have known, after one hangout, we would become such great friends? Little did we know the no makeup, terrible haircuts and drama through high school would turn into uncontrollable laughter and memories eight years later.

Eight years is a long time, but we made it through together. The two of us have been through hell and back together. Our friendship is so strong, nothing will tear us apart.

You bring out the best in me. You know me to my core. You never doubt me. These eight years you have put up with a lot because of me. I don't think I have ever thanked you for that. So, thank you. I do not think I could ever thank you enough for everything you do for me, and for being the best friend that I have.

Thank you for being the happiness on my sad days. You are always picking me up when I'm down. Thank you for all the late-night girl nights we have. Thank you for coming along for all the rides I drag you along to. Thank you for being my wing woman. Thank you for never letting me down. Thank you for being the most selfless person I know. Thank you for being there for me through all the happy, sad, mad and everything in between times.

My life would be so different without you in it. I am so lucky to have my best friend living down the street from me, working with me and going to school with me. I would never trade the friendship that you and I have for anything or anyone. You will forever be the best friend in my life. You are a rock star. Thank you for all the love and happiness that you have brought, and continue to bring, to my life.

Through the past eight years, I have gained a soulmate. Soulmates are not always romantic. They can be a certain person who you just connect with. They just understand you. Thank you for being my best friend through these years. You are my soulmate. I can tell you that I will never find a friendship like ours through another person.
