Home Alone. Kevin McCallister’s shenanigans never get old in this
classic film in which he must protect his house from being robbed while he is, accidentally, left at home. The sequel (Home Alone 2: Lost in New York) is also
just as good as the first, if not better.
The Family Stone. An uptight businesswoman named Meredith (Sarah Jessica Parker) is brought to her boyfriend’s home for Christmas time, but is not very welcomed as she feels out of place. This comedy boasts an excellent cast and an original storyline.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Jim Carrey was born for this role because he kills it in this live-action adaption of Dr. Seuss’ notorious Christmas tale. The Grinch is tired of the cheerful Whos' obsession with Christmas and decides to ruin their holiday spirit by stealing all their presents.
Elf. A man raised as an elf in the North Pole travels to New York City to find his real father and discover who he actually is. This features, probably, one of Will Ferrell’s best performances and is a really funny movie.
The Polar Express. In this adaptation of the classic children’s book, Tom Hanks provides the voice of numerous characters, as the story is brought to life with smart and life-like animation.
The Santa Clause. Tim Allen accidentally kills Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and, gradually, begins to turn into the next Santa. The plot is clever, making this movie a holiday classic. Don’t waste your time with the sequels, though, because they are not nearly as good.
Bad Santa. A con-man dressed up as Santa Claus robs department stores on Christmas Eve, but is believed by one kid to be the real Santa. Billy Bob Thornton was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in this hilarious R-rated holiday film.
The Nightmare Before Christmas. Tim Burton’s creative animated film works both as a Halloween movie and a Christmas movie. It tells the story of Jack Skellington’s desire to celebrate Christmas, instead of Halloween, after being tired of doing the same thing every year.
