Tucson is known for the beautiful Sonoran Desert, its National Parks, the most amazing University in the country (The University of Arizona) — and also its breakfast food?
Tucson has some of the most superb, unique breakfast joints I have ever tried.
1. Prep & Pastry
Prep & Pastry is that restaurant all over your Instagram with that irresistible looking French toast or mimosa. They have a very unique and hip menu. Prep & Pastry is breakfast joint located 3073 N Campbell Ave. It ranges from unique breakfast cocktails, s’mores french toast, and bacon cronuts to duck confit hash. The style of the bistro has a very country farm feeling, which is tremendously different than the general feeling in Tucson. Ask anyone in Tucson, I’m sure they’ve heard of and love to rave about Prep & Pastry.
2. Bentley’s House of Coffee and Tea
Bentley’s House of Coffee and Tea is a little café located on 1730 East Speedway Blvd. Bentley has been serving up pastries, diner foods, coffee and tea for over 30 years. The restaurant has a brightly colored interior which makes it an extremely inviting and open atmosphere. If you’re looking to go study for a huge exam and grab a pastry and a coffee, Bentley’s is the perfect place.
3. The Good Egg
The Good Egg is so respectable that it is located all over the state of Arizona. It has locations in Phoenix, East Valley, Northwest Valley, Scottsdale and Tucson. It even has five locations just in Tucson alone. The menu ranges from your classic breakfast foods like pancakes, benedicts, and omelets, to southwest breakfast bowls which include breakfast tacos, and the Macho Nacho (2 eggs, seasoned potatoes with corn tortilla strips, beef Baracoa, green chilies, guacamole, black beans, Jack & Cheddar cheeses, Veracruz sauce, sour cream, Pico de Gallo, salsa on a tortilla). When you’re looking for a hangover cure from that crazy night before, definitely stop by The Good Egg.
4. Bobo's Restaurant
Bobo’s is a restaurant located on 2938 E. Grant Road. Not only is it only 10 minutes away from campus, it also delivers! We all know how much college students love delivery! They’re known for severing up home-style breakfast, which is always nice to get a home-cooked style meal when you’ve been eating Chic-fil-A at the Student Union every day. Their menu consists comforting breakfast foods such as chicken-fried steak, biscuits and sausage with gravy, and blueberry & banana pancakes. If you’re really missing your mom’s cooking, I would definitely check this joint out.
