While in college, we all know being 21 is the best thing! After turning 21, you are finally able to go out to the bars and buy alcohol. Here are the top five best bars in range of Colorado State's campus:
1. Lucky Joe’s
If you enjoy free peanuts, beer, great people, and live music Luck Joe’s is the place for you. It is a very welcoming Irish Pub in a Western Saloon-type building. Here, they have an extensive list of beers that come from all over and feature local breweries. They also have a broad list of cocktails for everyone who may not feel like sipping on a beer that night. However, it's limited to just being a bar; during the day, Lucky Joe’s also serves lunch and dinner. Lucky Joe's also offers acoustic open mic nights starting at 7 p.m. every Sunday.
2. The Bar
The Bar, also known as "Barcade," is filled with an assortment of arcade games, pool, ping pong, and many more. It is a really great place to go and play games with your friends and relax. The bar is located in a basement, with completely open garage doors during the summer. The Bar also has a really great selection of beers and their well-known special is every Tuesday night they have $1 draft beers. Almost every college student is there on Tuesday nights due to this great promotion.
3. Trailhead Tavern
Although dive bars may have a bad rep, Trailhead is a dive bar gem. Inside the bar, there are a couple of pool tables and much more to offer. They have a great selection of beer and alcoholic mixed drinks. The bar itself gives off a feeling of being in the country. The people who go there are also always really fun, there are all the way from country men to sports fans and everyone in between.
4. The Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen
Also known as just “The Lodge,” this is an excellent hangout if you are in the mood to be in a "fisherman" kind of atmosphere. The wilderness feel inside the bar makes for such a great down to earth atmosphere. One massive perk is The Lodge is not very well known, so there is never a line nor too packed inside.
5. Steak Out Saloon
Also known as just “Steak Out,” this bar is located right next to Trailhead, which is great because you can go to two incredible bars in one night. One of the best parts about this place is that its huge; there is always room to move around and it is never too packed. The beer selection here is exceptional, they have a wide variety of local craft beers. There are two levels to this establishment: the upstairs is a giant bar with a lot of booths, tables, and a couple of pool tables. Better yet, the bottom of the bar has extra pool tables and heaps of games. The atmosphere at this bar is wonderful, it is very laid back and down to earth.
