I've never been a big fan of Bernie Sanders. Democratic socialism is a tried and true failure of a system, one that leaves countries with more problems and poverty than when it was started (check out Venezuela). His personal views on many problems in America I did not agree with, especially economically, and often his fans and voters were the hard-core left with very anarchist and revolutionary stances on issues they couldn't begin to comprehend themselves.
But I'll give him this; he may have been the most authentic candidate on the ballot. Joining the crooked Hillary Clinton and the sensationalist Donald Trump, he seemed a little more sane. Even though the "crazy commie uncle" title was best fitting, he at least seemed to genuinely care about America. He seemed to practice what he preached, and even though his plans were foolish, he whole-heartedly believed in them.
It's something to be said that 13+ million people voted for a man that did not even agree with the most basic premise of the United States republic (capitalism). It's also something to be said on how he seemed to transfix the youngest generation with his idealist, albeit vague, promises, and took hold on the youth in a way Hillary dreams she could and in a way Trump would like to think he does. People seemed to respect Bernie not for his ideas as much, but for his energy and passion towards 'saving' America and his genuine care for people. I respected him for staying strong on issues even though the opposition was, ultimately, unbeatable, and I respected him as a person much more than I could ever respect Hillary (although that's not saying too much).
But today I lost all respect. The great new Vladimir Lenin of the 21st century sold out to the most pro-establishment, two-faced, lying, hypocritical person to ever run for office. He endorsed Clinton to save a seat on the bus for him in the potential Clinton Administration Part Two as the Clinton brigade tries to lie and deceive it's way to the White House.
As a guy who, for the last 12 or so months, tried to convince voters that his rhetoric was different, that he was a true outsider, that he wanted to change the system once and for all, how could he possibly endorse Clinton? He talked about prison reform, and Clinton is someone who adamantly supported privatized prisons. Bernie rages about Wall Street, but Clinton gets paid millions to speak to them. Sanders wants to solve inequality of wealth, and Hillary wears $12,000 jackets while talking about the same issue.
It just shows how low the Democratic party has stooped to get its agenda through; they're putting faith into a woman who can't even have faith in her own husband, who can't stay on the same side of any issue if it doesn't appeal to voters, who can't seem to sound like a genuine person in any interview instead of a robot sputtering out her party's joke of a platform.
Oh, and if not for the leniency and protection of the FBI, she should be in jail. The Democratic Party political machine keeps moving.
"A Future To Believe In" was Bernie's slogan. America, is Hillary the future you really want?
