Inspired by my the first published article, on this here glorious website, I made the decision to reread my favorite novel for the third time. I am sure there are people there reread books they enjoy religiously, and the miniscule amount of times I have read and reread To Kill A Mockingbird is non significant. But as an individual who is constantly on the search for new experiences and entertainment, re-reading the the book once was a big deal for me. I always thought to myself that if I were to read a book over again, especially one that I held so closely to my soul, I would be taking away part of the excitement I felt during the first encounter with the book. Negative. Leaving this fear behind allowed me to realize that reread a favorite book only enhances the bond one shares with a book.

Here are three reasons I believe you should strongly consider taking the time out of your life to reread books and novels that you have enjoyed in the past!

1. You Get To Discover Moments That You May Have Overlooked

If you are anything like me, then you are not a perfect human being. Things happen and while reading you may have lost your place in a book and continued in a foreign region. It is also possible that you simply missed dialogue or actions between characters that may have been unimportant at first, but can tie the story together better once excavated.

2. The Ability To Further Connect With The Story And With Characters

By this point you know the story, you know what is about to happen and why. You also know the characters in terms of how they act and how they think. So, rereading a story where you are familiar with the protagonist is sort of like reliving one of your own memories. Rereading a story allows you to become closer with a character with every word, because you continue to connect with them on a deep level.

3. Nostalgia

While rereading TKAM I found that I was not only reliving the story of Scout and Jem, I was reliving the story of who I was when I first encountered the book. Often times reading takes you into a different place, but I would have never imagined that something so simple as reading words off of a page would make me reflect on how much I have grown and changed throughout the years. You are reminded of the person you were then, and the person you are now, and I believe that moments like that are necessary in life in order to continue to self prosper.

If you have ever second guessed rereading a book, chances are you should. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
