As a child, I used to play the computer game "Minecraft", and would spend hours building houses, pirate ships, spacecraft, and other architecture. The game expanded my creativity and allowed me to create and get my ideas out into that block world. No matter what, "Minecraft" has withstood the test of time and competition, and still stands to be played by millions worldwide.
"Minecraft" is an open world building and survival game where you gather materials such as wood, stone, and iron, and build all that you want until you choose to beat the game by defeating the Ender Dragon. You can also choose the creative mode, where you have all of the materials in abundance and build whatever you want. You can also connect with friends on servers and do this all with them. Not only is this game fun, but it also provides many benefits to ones creativity.
This game can be an outlet for people, as they can create whatever they want in creative mode. I have seen people create extravagant mansions, huge cities, and giant models of characters from different media. One could argue that this is a form of art, as these creations take hours or days to build. Although it may seem easy to build since it is in a computer game, these creations are difficult, as a player must take into account how large it will be, how many blocks it will require, and what blocks it will require. Like music or other art forms, this game works the creative side of the brain, as it makes the players practice their creativity through the architecture they build or the strategies they employ to beat the game.
Not only does the game work the creativity aspect, but it also can have the ability to improve social skills. With its server aspect, players can connect to other players and build along with them, or play strategy games such as HungerCraft and capture the flag. In this way, the players interact with other people that have something in common with them. People who do not often make friends at school can quickly make a group of friends while playing on a server. These players interact, and build social skills through these interactions.
"Minecraft", although it is a game most played by children and teenagers, can still bring joy to any age, as it works the creative side of the bran and also can build social skills. Not only this, but the game is enjoyable to play and addicting.
