Waking up in the morning isn't always the easiest thing, especially if you're a working college student. It seems as soon as one thing is finished, the next one pops up right after. It's as if we can't catch a break! However, making yourself into a morning person will yield a lot of benefits. It can help you get a lot more schoolwork done, and you can allow yourself to go to bed a lot earlier so you don't have to stay late working on projects. Here are these benefits.

1. You get more school work done.

Waking up an hour or two before your alarm goes off in the morning (the exception: if you have to get up at 6 a.m, don't try getting up much earlier than that because it's painful both physically and mentally) will yield more study and work time for your assignments. Instead of staying up late at night, you can battle your closing eyelids in the morning where the breaking daylight will work naturally with your body to start waking up. But don't forget a much needed cup of coffee! At least you won't be up late because the caffeine hasn't worn off well after you've finished your project.

2. Morning shifts at work mean you get out of work earlier.

If your place of employment has shifts split in mornings and afternoons, and if you have the ability to, try taking those morning shifts. Sure, it's uncomfortable forcing yourself to wake up to go make money, but it means you'll get out of work earlier rather than staying later. You can finish projects in the afternoon without feeling like you've slept in and wasted the day.

3. You can get up before the rest of your household.

A nice benefit of waking up earlier is being able to have some quiet time before the rest of your household rises. You can make yourself a cup of coffee and some breakfast without worrying about family members conveniently needing a spoon from the spot you're standing in. Also, you won't have to hear about what needs to get done for the day before you're ready for it! You can just sit back and relax at your own pace before everyone else decides to wake up.

4. You can get your workout in before the gym gets hectic.

For those who hate a busy gym, this one is for you. Forcing yourself to wake up a little earlier in the morning can mean more machines will be open for you at the gym. You'll have the freedom to reign the gym at your own pace and pick your machines to your heart's delight. No more wait time!

5. Your day will be balanced better.

Getting up earlier in the morning will give you a better balanced day. Being loaded with college homework assignments that need to get done can be split and conquered so you won't feel burnt out doing everything at once. You can get your workout in and get a head start for the rest of the day without feeling like you have to cram in order to make your day plans work. It sure beats staying up late when all you want to do is crash into your cozy bed. An earlier start to your day can mean a more fulfilling and balanced one, so give it a try.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
