Everyone has that one special person they can call their PIC (partner in crime), BFFL (best friend for life and death), or maybe even their soul sister, and for me that happens to be my sister. A sister is truly the ultimate package; constant in-home entertainment along with a best friend to do anything with.
1. For starters, a sister makes the perfect best friend on a lazy Sunday. No need to get dressed and drive to meet for breakfast somewhere, just walk on down to the kitchen and start mixing that Aunt Jemima pancake mix while watching an old movie that you know every line to.
2. Running late on a Saturday night and have no clue how to stay out of trouble with your parents? Solution: have your sister cover for you. No one else would have the ability to come up with some creative yet over-complicated story of where you are that somehow seems to work just enough to avoid getting into trouble.
3. Chances are, your sister will be talented in at least one school subject that you struggle with, so there’s an in home tutor to add to the list. Whether it’s getting help with some math problems or an extra set of eyes to read over a crucial research paper, this can all be done without leaving your living room.
4. There is no better tool of motivation than your sister. Personally, my sister is always putting together unusual, but creative healthy recipes and has convinced me to try some things that had never even crossed my mind before hand. It’s also pretty hard to sit around watching reality TV all day when my sister goes out for a run in the overbearing heat, so thanks to her for forcing me to get in shape.
5. You’re always told that honesty is the best policy, and a sister tends to be brutally honest. You ask for advice on what to wear to a school dance, expect the complete truth even if it hurts. Later on, you’ll appreciate the brutal honesty when you’re looking back at pictures from high school and actually impressed with yourself; who else to thank but your sister?
