*Disclaimer: cute babies ahead*
When you're the baby of the group, whether it's by a few months or a few years, you will always be treated as the baby of the group. Here are just some of the things you hear every time you meet someone new.
1. OMG you're how old?
Your first time meeting your group of friends, you will inevitably watch people go from shock (real or fake, depending on the age gap) to doting in 2 seconds flat. Which brings us to the next part.
2. Awwwwwww, you're such a baby!
You are, surprisingly, neither as young, nor as cute as this baby, so you're naturally confused as to why they feel the need to act that way.
3. So, how exactly do you know _______?
I know them because we met, and I'm great, so they loved me, and now we're friends. Duh.
4. But you act so much older!
First of all, I'm really not that much younger than you. Second of all, thank you. I work hard to stay mature. Especially when people decide to discuss my age.
5. Let's all go out! Oh wait, you're too young.
LET ME JOIN YOU. I WANT TO HAVE FUN TOO.
6. So, like, what grade are you in?
Your grade. I'm in your grade.
6. I never would've guessed!
Thanks, I think?
7. You're going to look so good when you're older!
Hahahahaha I know. *hair flip*
8. You're like my little sister/brother.
I love you too.
9. So do you only hang out with older people?
Only if I like them as people. I don't base my friendships on age.
10. So do you only date older men/women?
Um, no? I date who I date.
11. I just want to protect you!
This is always a good one to hear. No matter how old we are, we like to be protected.
12. Were you even alive when _____ happened?
...yes?
No matter what happens, being the baby is the best, cause you get a built-in group of moms and dads to take care of you. No matter how much you may hate being the baby initially, you'll learn to love it.
