Being a Nursing Student is not easy, no matter how much knowledge you have. I graduated from my high school with not only my Diploma but with my Certified Nursing Assistant certification. As of right now I'm back to the bottom of the chain as a Freshman in college majoring in Nursing. From Sophomore to Senior year I had one semester of normal classes and the other semester my Allied Health course where I obtained my C N A certification. Just because I had three years of nursing classes doesn’t mean that I'm going to fly by in college with ease. Most people do not understand the level of work Nursing students have to go through.
You think having to read one chapter of a book and then writing down five questions is bad? How about you read a chapter of an Anatomy and Physiology textbook, answer 20 questions in the back of the book, complete a chapter of a Medical terminology workbook that will take you at minimum an hour and a half as well as study for your upcoming test for the next day. Now tell me your one chapter and five question is hard. For three years in high school I endured the minimal three hours of just nursing homework every night.
I went to a technical school where there were several "shops" you could take during high school so when you came out of high school you can have a certification or job lined up. There was nursing, carpentry, floristry, mechanics, culinary and many other trades you could learn. Let me just tell you that when I was choosing what trade to go into I wanted to be a Diesel Mechanic and then quickly changed to nursing, a bit of a difference I'd say. Something I often heard and still hear is that college is going to be easy for me because I already have so much knowledge from Allied Health. Let me just stop you and say that is a straight up lie.
Nursing school is not "easy" for anyone no matter what level of education or experience you have. From my Sophomore year in high school to my freshman year in college until I retire from a nursing profession I will be learning and it will never be "easy".
