As college students, life can get extremely hectic. We're getting close to the time of the school year where tests, homework, clubs, and other prior commitments seem to be piling up right before our eyes. However, no matter how chaotic your life seems to get, it's important to remember to take care of yourself during busy times. Whether it's taking extra time to thoroughly brush through your hair in the morning, or taking half-an-hour out of your day to do yoga, making sure you're okay is more important than anything else.

1. Do some sort of exercise you enjoy a few times a week

I know that a lot of people say they hate working out or they would rather be watching Netflix, it's important that we all do something to get our bodies moving. Even if it's just taking a little bit of a longer route to one of your classes, your body will thank you. Some might find this happiness at the gym, others may enjoy taking a little walk outside to clear their head. Physical activity is very overlooked when it comes to how much it can improve your overall mood, health, and stamina. While we all love a good Netflix binge-watching session, it's okay to take a little break and to go outside!

2. Please, remember to eat wholesome meals

As a college student, it's easy to get carried away with not making the best eating choices. While I am no saint when it comes to always eating healthy, it's important for your overall health. Let me tell you; I definitely love to treat myself. However, I know I can't do that all the time.

First of all, nobody should ever skip breakfast. I am a firm believer that breakfast IS the most important meal of the day. This is when you get your first source of energy for your day, and it will really impact you. Nobody wants to hang out with you in the morning if your 'hangry'. Even if you just eat a granola bar, it will change your day for the better. Make sure to eat a decent lunch, and a dinner that will fill you up for the night. Even though I'm not sure how people do this, please don't forget to eat!

3. Get your beauty rest

I think we've heard enough jokes about how college kids never have time to sleep. Personally, I NEED sleep more than most of the people I know. While it might be easier said than done, try getting all your homework and studying done during the daytime so you can go to bed whenever you want. I have a few breaks during my classes during the week, and I feel like this is when I'm the most productive. I'm able to knock out papers, studying, and other assignments before my next classes. Unless I'm swamped or I have a big test, I rarely am up until the A.M. hours finishing up my work. Sleep is something that we all need in order to function.

4. Remember: You WILL graduate and you WILL get a job

A lot of people I know will beat themselves up over not getting a certain grade they wanted, being overwhelmed with work, or stressing to the maximum. Please don't forget, we're all going to graduate at some point. You can't get upset over getting a B on a paper instead of an A. The past is the past, and we have to continue to move forward in order to be happy and satisfied with our college experience. And, guess what? We're all going to be employed or get a job at some point. I know I'm guilty of freaking out and worrying about what I'm going to do after graduating, but I know a job will come my way. Even though we hear it all the time, you're only in college once.

Make time for yourself, hang with your friends, study, and stay healthy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
