We can be inspired by so many things yet at the same time we can begin to criticize little things about ourselves. We desire to be perfect, to look flawless, to look beautiful, to not have any blemishes on our skin. We desire to recreate outselves to the perfect image. Breaking every single things that makes us, us.
Our heights, to small "I'm a Midget", to tall "I'm a Giant"
Our Hair that continues to grow we break down. We become ashamed of it. We force our hair to be different. Whether your hair is curly, straight, wavy or an afro, you do not have it with pride.
Our skin we become ashamed of it, we look into mirror and we do not smile. There is sadness in your eyes. We begin to cower from ourselves, there begins to be no confidence in your stance. You feel awkward. So that shame grows and we begin to hide our natural beauty with wrong intentions. We constantly do so in which causes further harm because we do not see our selves as beautiful without all the added extras.
Our body we tug and pull, looking into the mirror we turn and turn hoping to see different. "I'm to skinny.....I'm to fat" I can see my bones... I can't fit in these clothes. My breast are to big... My breast are too small. We starve our selves... We gorged ourselves, to a point where we become ill. We cover ourselves more and more, hiding our body that we do not want. We wear clothes that do not fit to bring less attention to ourselves. We are ashamed and so we become uncomfortable. We are scared of our body, that we question everything.
We forget that in this world we are all different, and to to further on they forget what being different means. They hold on to this notion that different means weird, different means ugly, different means unwanted. Different means alone. However, that is not true being different means being unique and being unique means being one of a kind. We were not born to all be the same. We were created to be different, to be unique in our own way. Yet our refusal of that that only taints us what we think of our self is powerful for if we do not see beauty there will will never be beauty because you don't accept who you are, you do not accept your body, your hair your skin. You deny it so you deny yourself. Many have their flaws it was makes the different and all the more special. Do not change your body for reason of harm. Do not change your body because you do not look like her. Come to accept your body for what it is and you will see change. There is no greater beauty than natural beauty.
