College can be compared to a lot of different things; a never-ending car ride, diving into what you think is a pool full of money, but turns out to be pudding, etc. But as the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" comes to an end, I have come to notice some similarities that cannot be overlooked. Coincidence? I think not.
1. Walking to class in the winter = White Walkers.
Walking to class in the winter is no easy feat. Especially at Rutgers, where a student has to sometimes take two buses to get to class, some students find it a lot easier to just skip class all together rather than breaking a neck slipping on ice because the sidewalks weren't shoveled. Thus, by the time we graduate, we all have a little White Walker in us.
2. Waking up for 8 a.m. class = Jon Snow coming back to life (every time).
When there's only one section of a class open and it's an 8 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, you come to know the struggle. But just remember, when you're thinking about skipping that class for the fifth time that semester, you're pay thousands of dollars to stay in bed.
3. Syllabus Week (and basically every other week) = O.G. Cersei all the time.
We all know Cersei, like most college students, loves her wine. Although things didn't turn out so great for her, I totally stand behind my belief that it was the wine that kept her alive all this time. A glass of wine a day before day is healthy, after all.
4. Trying to get on the buses = every GoT battle ever.
This is the exact reason why I never pick classes on Cook or Douglass during Rush Hour because I know it'll take me longer than the whole class period just to get to class. And during midterms and finals? Forget about it.
5. Midterms and Finals Week = Every fan meltdown ever because HBO likes to play.
6. Going out in the winter = being a member of the Night's Watch.
7. Trying to graduate = Khalessi trying to conquer Westeros.
I believe in you, girl. If Kahlessi can survive being burned alive and come out of it with some baby dragons, then you can ace those classes and toss that cap in the air with a smile on your face.
Overall, we are all fighting for the same team. We are all Scarlet Knights fighting to graduate with enemies such as student debt and $2 Tuesdays.
