Hey guys, so I have gotten stuck on watching "Sex and the City." I found a lot of relatable circumstances between Carrie Bradshaw and myself as a college student. I compiled a list of examples, how relatable are they to you? Scroll to see for yourself.
1. She understands that we may (or may not) *wink, wink* have a drinking problem.
But who doesn't, especially when bars have drink specials and it's cheap. Unlike Carrie though, I prefer a cold beer or some amaretto sours instead of a cosmopolitan or vodka martini's.
2. She can never decide what to wear regardless of how much she owns.
I know I constantly have this issue. I never go out but when I do it is quite a task. Even when I go through my closet to rid myself of old clothing it still feels like I haven't made a dent. Who else has this problem? I imagine all of us do.
3. She LOVES to party (especially with drinks and a smoke).
Who doesn't love to dress up and pretend you have your life together? The key word is pretend. I don't know if anyone truly has it all together. If you do, tell them to call me so I can know the secret to their success.
4. She always seems to be broke, well, because of shoes.
Mine is mostly food, but you know, everyone has their own guilty pleasure. Sometimes more than one, like clothing. That's another guilty pleasure I have. Besides, retail therapy doesn't hurt anyone but my bank account. Yikes. Oh well, it's worth it.
5. She has her small group of girlfriends.
You may have two or six, but you can't get through life without them. However, it is hard to avoid some of that girl drama. Samantha and Charlotte know a thing or two about fighting amongst friends. It's okay, the best of friends always seem to find a way back to each other.
6. She struggles with relationship's and being single.
We can all relate to this part of Carrie's life. Everyone struggles at some point with these issues. When in college and trying to find yourself, build your life, and maintain a social life, things in the romance department can become a bit difficult and hard to balance.
7. She is always asking questions about life and love.
Don't you wish we all had the answers? I know I do. Alas, we do not. So maybe we need more people like Carrie in our lives. Someone to constantly ask the hard questions about life that others might be afraid to ask.
Try to find the relatable shows in the world and watch them. Yes, they are television shows, but then you know you are not completely alone in this world.
Sincerely,
Another ADHD Student
