Being Burnt Out Is Normal, But If It's A 24/7 Thing, You Need To Slow Down

In this society, it has become the norm that burning out is part of growing up. It is affecting the younger generations through the amount of workload from school and other related activities. Children and teenager's stress levels shouldn't be to the point of burning out. A little stress is healthy but burning out is a sign that we need to slow down or stop. Imagine that feeling when you're spinning in a computer chair and having pain behind your eyes. Being burnt out can feel like that. It is okay to feel that way, but the next step should be on your way to recovering yourself. I find stepping away from what I am doing to help out.

For instance, I'm not used to having academics being a challenge. I am used to being able to get assignments done in a timely fashion. As I get ready to graduate college, I found my most challenging class. Language classes are my most challenging class, not Math or English. My husband is a native Brazilian and I am an American. I am not bilingual by any means. Other languages are challenging to me even though I love listening to people speak in other tongues. Language classes make me want me to pull out my hair but I find when I step away from my homework or projects surrounding that class, I perform better.

When we feel burnt out, we shouldn't keep cramming in order to finish something.

That is a sign that it won't turn out well to it's fullest potential. The worst time I was burnt out was when a lot of things were going wrong in my life and I was forcing myself to do other challenging things in order for my life to seem normal to other people. This is when you need to reach out to people that you trust and who love you. I reached out to a mother figure in my life when it got terrible and she was able to talk me through getting out of my confusion. If you are finding yourself wanting to prove something to others by loading up a lot on your plate, that is not healthy and you would need to stop that. A habit like that should be broken as soon as one realizes it.

Burning out is something that is normal for everyone to experience at one point. It causes problems that can lead to production problems in one's life. If one thinks about it, it is a blessing because it shows us that we sometimes have to slow down and take mental and physical breaks. It is the same as when a car crash happens and everything becomes hazy and confusing. It also can come across as a film of heaviness comes onto the brain that slows down everything. It can make you dizzy and confused for a few seconds from my experience. Remember to take a break once in a while.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
