One of the scariest things about coming to college is the anticipation of who your freshman year roommate is going to be. Will you be best friends? Will you hate each other? Will she turn into a sociopathic, obsessive serial killer like in the totally realistic movie "The Roommate"? I was blessed enough to be randomly paired with the single best thing that happened to me my freshman year, and I couldn't imagine my life without her in it. So this is what it's like to go through the process of being assigned the perfect roommate as told by "Gossip Girl."

1. A letter from your college of choice comes in the mail.

You assume it’s another congratulations or checklist, but you open it and see the name of the girl who you’re going to be living with for the next nine months. The next 36 weeks. The next 275 days. The next 6,576 hours of your life.

2. You freak out because you don’t know if you should text her or just Facebook stalk her.

So of course you Facebook stalk her and really hope she’s the pretty one from Chicago instead of the middle aged lady with a cat as her profile picture, and much to your relief, she is.

3. You show her to your friends and family because she actually looks normal (unlike everyone else who goes to college).

4. You meet on move-in day, and things are a little awkward.

5. But about one week later you feel like you’ve been friends for years.

Hey, sorry I raided your closet and used your straightener and wow your perfume smells great, can I use that?

6. And you figure out she’s just as weird as you are.

7. You have each other’s schedules memorized like they were your own.

I know your lab doesn't get out that late.

8. You get sad when you have to be away from each other for more than five hours.

9. You cry when you have to leave each other for Christmas break, and you miss her so much you actually fly out to see her.

Hey, so, I bought a plane ticket from Atlanta to Chicago. See you on the sixth.

10. She’s always down to go out with you and be the life of the party.

11. But you have just as much fun talking all night in your dorm room.

12. You listen to each other and always know exactly what to say (or what not to say).

13. Your photo stream probably looks a lot like this.

14. Their accomplishments are your accomplishments and their happiness is your happiness.

15. And their pain is your pain.

16. You have the best inside jokes even if you don’t remember half of them.

17. You never judge. You just better tell me all the details when I get back from class.

18. You know what each other is thinking just by a single look.

19. They’re always down to go to the dining hall with you.

Hey, you know what sounds really good right now? Pizza.

20. And you both know that no one (not even cute boys) could ever compare to the love you have for each other.

XOXO

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
