Our generation is notorious for our causal, non-commitment hook ups set up through texting or Tinder. Sometimes, though, those flings can turn a bit more serious, but getting to that point is not a easy process. Here are the unconventional steps leading to a relationship, 2016 style:
1. Boy meets Girl at a cliché themed mixer labeled Hunt or be Hunted. He makes fun of the fact that Girl is wearing cat ears because that is just so basic. They introduce themselves over the noise and pretend they can hear each other even though it's near to impossible. Is his name Ian or Evan?

2. The DJ puts on Justin Bieber's What Do You Mean and Girl swears on everything that it is her song. Boy and Girl mock sing and end up dancing together.

3. Boy ends up with Girl's number but waits two days before texting her, asking if she's going out. Girl waits the appropriate ten minutes before responding her thought out reply, "Maybe, are you?"
4. Boy and Girl make awkward eye contact at party pretending not to notice each other until they "coincidently" end up standing next to each other. They attempt to talk but end up locking lips on the dance floor five minutes later.
5. Texting progresses from "Are you going out tonight?" to "How was your day?"

6. Boy tells Girl to come to his frat's mixers. Girl drags out her friends multiple nights so she can see him. She sleeps over multiple times and Boy's roommate begins to hate him.

7. After a couple of weeks, Girl begins to wonder what they "are." She decides to say nothing to Boy and play it by ear.

8. Boy ends up kissing some blonde bimbo on Saturday night. There are witnesses who text Girl right away. Girl tries to hide being upset and promises her friends she's done with him.
