Let yourself love again.

No matter how many times our heart gets broken or how many times it's felt like someone has ripped our heart out of our chest and crushed it into the cold pavement, we all still have the hope to eventually love again. Though a broken heart is something we all seem to know a little too well, I hope that one day you find that place of comfort where you and your heart can feel at home again. I hope that you can trust that special person enough to give your heart to them. Trust me when I say that it will happen eventually. When the time is right and you allow yourself to open your heart to that person, it'll mean so much more and will help remind yourself why it didn't work out with anybody else.

I get it, believe me. I've gotten my heart broken too many times to even count at this point and opening my heart afterward seemed to just get scarier and scarier. Eventually, I was just starting to predict an eventual heartbreak as a 'relationship norm.'

But, when you least expect it, you will open your heart again, and it will be a beautiful thing. You see, love is a truly beautiful thing and a beautiful emotion to share with someone special. What you have deep in your heart is also beautiful and eventually, someone will come along who will cherish your heart, and cradle it like a glass ornament. You'll know when the time is right to open your heart again because you'll feel it and want to share yourself with someone else. You'll feel the comfort you've been dying for. You'll be ready, I promise.

When you open your heart, you don't just find love. You find yourself. And that alone is a beautiful thing because you're a beautiful person who deserves to love and be loved. You can't decide who you are with your brain, you must follow your heart. When you open your heart to someone new, you open your soul to discover yourself and what you need and in doing so, you'll find what you need in that person if it's true.

I know it's terrifying. I know you're scared to do anything to make yourself look vulnerable because last time ended in you laying in your bed wide awake at 3 am, crying and questioning what you did wrong. When, in reality, it probably had nothing to do with you at all. But that's the simple beauty in opening your heart again because now you know what you deserve and you know exactly what you don't want.

The sad truth is, you have to keep breaking your heart until it finally opens. There's inevitable heartbreak that you must undergo before you can appreciate love for what it really is. But, it will get better. You will find someone who makes you want to open your heart. It might happen when you least expect it, but it'll happen. All the pain and sleepless nights will seem nonexistent. What's meant to be will find it's way, so enjoy the ride. Falling in love is a beautiful thing and it's time to fully open your heart to love again. Go out with your heart wide open, the rest will fall into place on it's own. Your "happily ever after" is out there.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
