In today's world, many people view beauty as something that can be defined. People place beauty in the same category as the words pretty, sexy, and attractive. But frankly, that's not what beauty is.

You cannot be defined as not beautiful from the way you look; beauty comes from within. Beauty is pure. Beauty is unaltered. Beauty is everywhere.

Beauty is the way someone throws their head back when they laugh, or how one blushes every time they hear a compliment. Beauty is dancing in the middle of a Target aisle with your two best friends without caring who's watching. Beauty is the excitement on one's faces when they open a gift they love. Beauty is eye contact that means more than words could.

Beauty is the sunrise on Tuesday mornings on your way to work. Beauty is the leaves changing from green to oranges. Beauty is viewing football Friday nights from the sidelines. Beauty is a fresh snowfall. Beauty is waves crashing into the beach while families play. Beauty is everything.

So, the next time you think you're not beautiful, take a moment to think. Beauty is not having a certain body type or straight, white teeth. Beauty is not defined by a certain height, weight, hair color, or anything else. You do not have to dress differently to be beautiful. You do not have to photoshop yourself to be beautiful.

The only way to truly ever be beautiful is to be yourself with zero regrets. Be yourself always. Live how you want. Wear what you want. Dye and cut your hair however you feel compelled to. Do not ever hold back who you are because you think it makes you less beautiful. And do not ever do something that isn't you because you think it'll make you more beautiful.

Beautiful is not sexy. Beautiful is not pretty. Beautiful is not attractive. Beautiful is you. You are beautiful. You, as you are right here, right now. You are beautiful. Never consider yourself anything less.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
