A Beautiful Collision

Going vegan may sound like a big step to take but I guarantee you will not regret it.

A Beautiful Collision

Have you ever discovered something cool — a new hangout spot, a new movie that made you super happy after you saw it, or some new invention that you're excited for — and you want to tell everyone you know about it so that they can enjoy it too? That's how I feel about the vegan message. It's this concept that you can sustain as many lives as possible, help save the ecosystem and all of the animals within it, and reduce your carbon footprint so that the upcoming generations can survive on a planet that is in better condition than when you were here.

We can all do better — eat more fruits and veggies, be a better friend, recycle more often, donate more time and money to those in need, etc.

Going vegan may sound like a hard step to take but I guarantee you that you will never regret doing it. Not only is veganism the healthiest diet on the planet, it's also the most eco-friendly, compassionate, and selfless diet on the planet.

Those three adjectives that I just used to describe veganism are my main values in life, as in many people's. Veganism aligns so closely with my main values, so I could no longer live in such a way that I knew did not synchronize with my inner feelings. The choice to switch to veganism became clear to me in a single moment of impact. It was like a beautiful collision in my mind - all of my values suddenly harmonized together.

But how does veganism accomplish all that? For starters, plant-based food is sustainable, more friendly, more efficient, and obviously more nutrient dense for our personal health (as long as you don't go overboard on the vegan treats).

If you care about helping the environment, or the animals, or your own health, veganism is the best choice for all three causes. It just is.

And not to sound like a total hippie (but I think I have a tiny bit in me hahaha), you will notice an increase in happiness, well-being, and confidence after being vegan for a little while. It's no wonder that once you go plant-based, the energy and good aura you receive from such a compassionate and healthy diet will transfer over into (almost) every facet of your life, radiating health and peace. That is what will keep you wanting to stay vegan for the rest of your life.

Thanks so much for reading!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
