Eight Beatles Songs You Should Be Listening To

The music streaming app, Spotify, recently acquired the rights to every Beatles album. What does that mean? That means that you can now listen to every version of every Beatles song ever published, for free! But instead of listening to Hey Jude and Here Comes The Sun on repeat, here are eight Beatles songs that you should listen to instead.

1. From Me To You - 1

"Just call on me and I'll send it along / With love from me to you "

Paul McCartney and John Lennon traded writing the lines for the song, which makes this song even better since they created it together. With simple and repetitive lyrics, this song is a classic with it's upbeat vibe and original sound. What's even better is that the band wasn't sure if it was a good song at first, and Paul's father had to convince them that it was worth playing for fans.

2. I've Got A Feeling - Let It Be

"All that I was looking for was somebody / Who looked like you "

This song was created by combining two uncompleted songs together. Paul intended to write an optimistic song, while John had written a song that went through all the terrible things that had happened to him that year. With simple lyrics, there are some romantic lines in it that Paul had written for his wife, as well as some lyrics from John like, "Everybody had a hard year".

3. Eleanor Rigby - 1

"Ah look at all the lonely people "

Paul wrote this song about old people that he had known from his town when he was young. He found the name Eleanor when he was wandering through a cemetery. The song was a top hit in England, but it only reached number eleven on the charts in America. While you might have heard this song before in passing, you should go back and really listen to the story this song tells.

4. Don't Let Me Down - Past Masters

"It's a love that lasts forever / It's a love that had no past "

John wrote this song for his love, Yoko Ono. John had attempted to keep the song simple, like her minimalist personality. It's a song about feeling like someone loves you more than anyone else ever has. It can touch anyone's heart.

5. For No One - Revolver

"There will be time when all the things she said will fill your head "

Even though it's a little more obscure, this song is considered one of Paul's most beautiful songs. It has a horn section, it has a 'haunting' melody, it has amazing lyrics-it has everything. It's about realizing you don't love someone as much as you used to.

6. Love You To - Revolver

"Make love all day long / Make love singing songs "

This is the first song George Harrison wrote with the direct intention of having a sitar as the main instrument. While it may not sound like your classic Beatles song, it has their unique and captivating voices. With a mellow sound and loving lyrics, this should be a more popular Beatles song.

7. Why Don't We Do It In The Road - The Beatles

"Why don't we do it in the road?"

Why should you listen to a song that says the same thing over and over? Because it sounds great anyway! Paul wrote this song after being in India and seeing two monkeys being intimate in public. The sound of this song will have you dancing alone in your room and flipping your hair like a true rock star.

8. I Don't Want To Spoil The Party - Beatles For Sale

"I would hate my disappointment to show / There's nothing for me here so I will disappear"

While this is a song about wishing someone you liked was around, it's also the anthem for anyone with anxiety at a party. Ever gone to a party and didn't know anyone? Looking around at everyone having fun and you being alone, can be a bummer.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
