Too often people get caught up in the stress of daily life and forget to appreciate all the wonderful moments. No matter what age you are, everyone deserves a vacation, at least once a year. Even a "staycation" will do. It seems money makes the world go 'round, therefore everyone has to work, work, work to make that money. While money is obviously essential, it doesn’t bring true happiness. Sure it can for a little while, but it’s not the real solution to all the world’s problems.
Some of the best moments of my life had nothing to do with money; simply being with people I love is what makes me the happiest. I am especially content on vacations because everyone is at ease, enjoying time spent together and having fun. Vacations never seem to last long enough, I think we all can agree on that.
I aspire one day to have a job that allows me to travel and take the occasional time off to go on vacations. A dream job for me is not one that is in a cubical. My dream job is one that involves new things, new places and different faces. In another article of mine, I discussed ‘wanderlust’ and why we should all travel as much as possible. Though this article may seem a bit redundant, it’s still very true nonetheless. I know there is so much to see, I don’t want to spend my existence doing the same thing, in the same place for my whole life.
Ever since childhood people say they "just want to be happy." Later in life, you’ll hear those same people say they just want to do what makes them happy. So many people love what they do in their careers, but at times we complain about our jobs more often than not. No job will ever be perfect, but doing the things you love will definitely point you in the best direction.
Even if your job isn’t ideal right now, it’s never too late to take some time away and figure out what is best for you. A vacation can do just that, and a person a world of good. It can relieve stress, pause all of lives worries and let you think about everything.
Of course all vacations don’t have to be such life-changing events, but that doesn’t make them any less wonderful. Take a break from it all, hop in the car or do something different than your daily routine and take advantage of all that there is out there. As the great philosopher Drake said, “You only live once.”
