Think about the obstacles you have had to overcome or the events that you've gone through to make you the person you are today. Now think about all the things you regret doing or saying in your life that you wish you could just take back. Think about your worst days. The days where you literally can't get anything right, the days where you want to shut everyone out and just cry because that seems like the only logical solution. How amazing is it that despite all the s**t you go through, your dog will look at you the exact same way they always have, regardless of your mistakes. Your dog expects you to be the best version of yourself so why not try and live up to that?
Wake up in the morning feeling confident, feeling like you can take on any obstacle that comes your way. Start the day with a fresh perspective and don't let your past dictate the present. Appreciate the good moments, but understand that it can't be perfect all the time. So you mess up. You say something you shouldn't have or you do something that you can't take back; it's going to happen. Most likely more than once and probably more than you can count. Just know that your life is yours and you can control the way you treat the people around you. Own up to your mistakes because it's better to apologize than not to. Your dog always forgives you, you say sorry, you move on. It's never too late to say sorry.
Always forgive. Life is too short to carry around grudges. It feels better to just let it go and it gives you more room for positivity in your life. Smile because it's probably one of the easiest things you can do. Even in your hardest moments, you have the control to bring yourself out of it. You have the strength, courage, and drive to feel happy again, because it does get better. Smile because your dog likes when you're happy.
Be a good person. Help others when they need it, without expecting anything in return. Good things come to those who put good out into the world. Accept people for who they are and what they believe in. Your dog loves you regardless of your imperfections.
Be kind because kindness is contagious. Love yourself and the people that matter to you. Remember, your dog loves you unconditionally.
Your dog sees the best in you, start seeing the best in yourself.
