You know the saying, "don't cross oceans for people who wouldn't jump through a puddle for you"?
I disagree.
I just recently came across that quote scrolling through twitter and it really got me thinking about life. Why not cross oceans for everyone? We live in such a negative world these days, BE the better person. Be the person who smiles at the girl who talks bad about you, because you don't know the story of why she is the way she is. Pay for that person's Starbucks drink behind you in line because you might have just made their week.
Help that person out in class who never does their work because maybe they need help and they're too scared to ask. If you like that boy, tell him. Yeah, you might get shot down, but this life is too short not to take chances. My point is, cross oceans for everyone. Be that person who makes someone's day a little easier because we all have a story that we don't share and just maybe that little act of kindness you did make their life 10x easier. It takes so much more energy to be mean to someone, we could all use a little pick me up so BE that person who picks someone up.
Life is just too short y'all, it's too short to not take chances, it's too short to constantly be negative. Go through your life more concerned about what you can do for others rather than what you can do for yourself. We all have a past, some worse than others. Some still struggle with their past, so be that stranger who makes them smile. As cheesy as this may sound, "Be the light you wish to see in the world." Seriously, don't wait around for the world to change, BE THE CHANGE. Be the good person, because the world could use a little more of you.
Do the most y'all. Go out of your way to others and strive every day to make someone else's day a little better.
With love,
Taylor Thompson
