One of my favorite people said this to me and it has stuck with me ever since.
"Be patient, never give up and follow your dreams."
Sadly, last November I lost her. Even though I miss her more than I can put into words, I know she would be so proud of me.
The advice she gave me is working very well, so I am here to pass it onto you.
You can choose to take it or ignore it, but either way it will be here if you ever need it.
Be Patient.
If you are anything like me, you're one of the least patient people in the world; which can be good or bad, depending on the scenario. Now I know this one is going to be a little tough. But I believe you can do it. No matter what you're trying to rush, whether it's graduation, a concert, a Friday night with your friends or a vacation, Take a step back and breathe. You will get there eventually. It takes time. Everything takes time. It'll happen when it's supposed to. Try not to rush it. Because you will get to wherever you are going eventually.
Never Give Up.
This is a really important one, okay? Make sure you take this one in. The one thing my aunt made sure of is that I never gave up, no matter what it was. If it was struggling to graduate high school, never give up is what she would've told me to do if she would've had the chance. Do not give up, whether it be on your dreams, your hopes of getting in to your dream college or getting an A on that test you have been studying so hard for. Once you give up, it is all over from there. You have to go at everything will positive thoughts or you are just wishing for a bad outcome. Don't be the person that is always negative and doesn't have any hope for their dreams to work out.
Follow Your Dreams.
Whatever your dream is, you need to follow it wherever it takes you. Whether it takes you to a new town, state or even a new country. Follow it. Follow that dream until it comes true. Follow it until one day you are sitting there and realize that it has come true, that you have made it. Dreams are made to be followed and chased. So go chase yours. It is going to be tough at times, there is no doubt about it. But do not give up, keep chasing it. You could be closer to them coming true than you think.
I am fully aware that you may have rolled your eyes at every single one of these. Well, that is fine. Roll your eyes all you want but, that is not going to get you to where you really want to be.
Set yourself a goal and go for it.
It doesn't hurt to try.
All I know is that it worked pretty well for me. If it hadn't, you wouldn't be able to be reading this right now.
