Inspired by a meme saying there are no articles like this, I decided to write one. I am sure there are others, but you're already here so let's get started.
1. Learning to be more introverted is just as helpful for an extrovert as it is for an introvert to learn how to be more social. Sometimes you need to be anti-social. Sometimes we need you to be more anti-social. Either way, please stop talking to everyone all the time because we are going to be late to the movie and the darkness and quiet place where no one says anything for two hours (hint-hint).
2. You should also try meditation. Meditation is so wonderful. You just sort of empty yourself of everything but one thought, one emotion and focus on that for, say, five minutes (we will be reasonable to start with). It is an incredible way to connect with yourself. Really, that's a lot of what being an introvert is: we are masters of knowing ourselves. Like any true master, though, we know there is no end to this journey. So come with us and discover who you are instead of that cutie just now walking in.
3. Another way to be more quiet and introverted is to read a book. Not to anyone, like, not aloud, but just, you know, to yourself. In your own head. You can even do voices for different people. It can be your own animated production, just as loud, colorful, and busy as you want it to be. Just, in your head. Keep it in there. That's what an introvert does.
4. Lastly, I think the best way to be more introverted is to use your extroverted skills...by buying a cat. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to learn to mimic your cat. Do the things your cat does: sleep 18 hours out of the day; if you can see your plate, put more food on it; go into another room whenever anyone else comes over; and just disappear randomly for hours at a time. If you happen to get one of those rare extroverted cats, give it to one of your introverted friends and try again. We really do need more contact with living things.
There you have it. A guide on how extroverts can be more quiet and introverted. We really love the excitement you bring to our lives, but sometimes we want to spend some of that time with you quietly.
