Imagine a storm with no ending, but not the bad kind of storm, the one where you lay in bed and just watch it pass by with comfort. Lightening strikes, but the rain soothes the sound of the thunder. This life is a never ending storm. Can we just stay in bed all day and watch it pass?
Unfortunately not...
We could read uplifting articles (like this one you're about to read) all day and slowly start to feel good, but what's the outcome of that? Isn't it funny how sometimes after we go on media outlets (Tumblr, Instagram, etc.) and see all these positive life quotes, we slowly start to feel this sense of peace and positivity? Okay I do that too, BUT, it's time to start asking yourself, "What am I going to do this week to not only feel positive but CREATE a positive environment for myself"? So it's Monday, as a firm believer in the cliche ‘good vibes’ mantra, I believe Monday is the most important day of the week. Why? Because it’s the beginning, the start of a fresh week, and only you can decide how it is going to go. Maybe you had a bad weekend, made a wrong decision (and no, drunk texting someone is not THAT bad), caught in a situation you couldn’t control; but now it's a new week, and it is time to let go of whatever has happened and start fresh.
We face difficulty. We experience hardship over & over again. But, this is why we were created, and this is how we grow. Not one person in this universe is perfect, nobody expects you to be perfect, except for yourself, and that is why facing this storm is hard. Don’t be so hard on yourself, hasn't Jess Glynne already told us this? If you feel a certain way, you are entitled to every single feeling that radiates through you, if you feel as if you have something to say, say it, if you feel as if you have something to prove, prove it. Let your imperfections guide you to be a stronger person and fight the storm.
You will meet new people, you will change, you will move, everything in your life is and will be in constant motion. Do not set your standards by thinking of the past or future, what you have is right now and that's all you need. The present time is a beautiful thing, let it be your friend. What has happened, happened, and what will happen in the future doesn’t matter for now. All that you need to set your sight on is what you're going though right now.
I encourage you to bring all of this to life. Although this life can be stagnant and boring, it is uplifting to look forward to something better. And, even the smallest of things can be exciting; maybe you’ll see a loved one soon, or maybe you just can’t wait to relax after a long day. If you focus on something that you know will bring you positive energy, you’ll exert a more positive attitude. Do better and be better; and if something or someone stands in your way, erase it or them, today is Monday and it is your one and only chance to steer your week in the right direction.
