Learn to Love Yourself

Positive thoughts can lead to a positive outlook on life.

1. Forgive Yourself

Stop blaming yourself. Everything happens for a reason. Don't blame yourself for being a certain way or acting a certain way. We are all different and that's what makes us unique. Being different is far from being a bad thing. It's in the past and we know we can't change what's happened, so embrace it! Everything is learning experience and a part of growing up.

2. Be Positive

You will only feel the way you let yourself feel. Positive thoughts can lead to a positive outlook on life. Sometimes it helps by thinking of one positive thing about yourself a day. Maybe you liked the way something looks that day or maybe it's even how you handled a certain situation. Either way, it becomes that much easier to embrace your true self.

3. Be Mindful

Know what you are thinking, feeling, and wanting. Live life the way you want to.

4. End All Toxic Relationships

The people you hang out with reflect the type of person you are. If you hang around negative people, you will eventually become negative yourself. It's okay to cut out people from your life if it means bettering yourself. It's not a sign of weakness. It's a sign of bravery.

5. Beauty Cannot Be Defined

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. One is not better than another. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.

6. Treat Others With Love and Respect

We hear far too often to 'treat others the way we want to be treated.' And it's true. If we keep putting one another down, it's just going to continue into a vicious cycle. By lifting others, we are lifting ourselves. Sometimes a small act of kindness can go far and you might even receive it in return.

7. Learn to Say No

NO MEANS NO. But seriously. If you aren't comfortable with something, say no. Saying no doesn't make you a rude person. It shows that you are intelligent enough to know what's best for your well-being. You'd be letting yourself down by agreeing to something you aren't comfortable with.

8. Find Your Happy Place

This took me longer than I think it should have, but long story short, everyone has a happy place so find it! Find that special place that calms you, makes you happy, and let's you feel free. Being in a location of positive energy makes it that much easier to feel good about yourself.

9. Stop Comparing

You are your own person. Comparing yourself to another human being is the last thing you want to do. You will never be anyone but yourself and that is okay. Actually, that's more than okay. You should want to stay yourself. There's never going to be another you. No one can play you as well as you do!

10. Love Yourself

Chances are, there are people out there that wishes they were you, but you are taken. Be the best version of you that you can be. Laugh more. Smile more. Love yourself more!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
