If you love witty British humor, classic dramas or just fabulous accents, then you should check out the works produced by BBC. Here are a few brilliant BBC series that you can find on Netflix.
1. "Merlin"
This classic tale follows Merlin and Arthur Pendragon as they defend Camelot from fantastic beasts and dark magic. If you're in the mood for some medieval fantasy, then add "Merlin" to your watch list.
2. "Doctor Who"
If you hated the original series, don't discredit the reboot. They have improved, I swear. Also, if you hate the cast, just wait a bit because they're always killing off characters whether you love them or not. As of now, Netflix is up to date with episodes staring Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi. So if you dream of saving planets from villainous aliens, hop on board the TARDIS and watch "Doctor Who".
3. "Being Human"
To be clear, this is the BBC "Being Human," which is far better than the American version. Here we have a sci-fi drama where a vampire, werewolf and a ghost live together and attempt to balance their supernatural conditions so that they can live a normal human life.
4. "Sherlock"
If you're not on the "Sherlock" bandwagon now, then I don't know what you've been doing with your life. This modern reboot of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic series has gotten everyone Sher-locked. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman brilliantly portray the characters of Sherlock and Watson, as well as capturing (and mocking) the duo's bromance.
5. "Ripper Street"
The series takes place on the infamous streets of White Chapel where Jack the Ripper slaughtered several women. In the series, we follow Edmund Reid, played by Matthew McFadden, as he attempts to clean up this corrupt, crime infested city.
6. "Broadchurch"
In this mystery drama, Alec Hardy, played by the amazing David Tennant, investigates the murder of an 11-year old boy. If you enjoy small town gossip, drama and mystery, then you'll enjoy all of the dirt that the detectives uncover from the lives of the townspeople.
7. "North and South"
This mini-series is based off of a novel by Elizebeth Gaskell. The cast includes Richard Armitage as John Thornton, the industrial businessman, and Daniela Denby-Ashe as Margret Hale, who is trying to adapt to city life after growing up in the country. For anyone who enjoys Jane Austen's novels, this series follows a similar plot line.
8. "Top Gear"
You don't even have to like cars to enjoy "Top Gear". It's really just a comedy talk show where three grown men get to goof off and play with cars. So if you enjoy some witty British humor, then take a look at the antics of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
