"I'm not going out tonight." This wonderful little statement has been a lie you've told yourself countless times. You're going to take it easy, do some homework, catch up on some sleep, and wake up feeling refreshed the next day. As the nighttime rolls around, your confidence in this decision slowly starts to diminish. You hear of the plans being made and start wondering if your mental and physical health is worth missing one night out. You try to tell yourself that you won't miss much, but once everyone starts getting ready -- your brain starts to twitch. It's conflicted.
The group chat starts going off about what time to head where and who's going. You find yourself really struggling, like trying to refrain from eating the pizza when it's right in front of you. "I really should stay in," you tell yourself as you start contemplating outfit choices. You've been going out too much and you need this quiet night to relax your muscles and mind. But there it is, that little voice in your head telling you that you will hate yourself when you see Snapchat and Instagram pictures of everyone having fun without you. The thought of missing out on tomorrow's stories starts to eat you alive. You cringe at the thought.
It is now 9:34 p.m. Your friends are ready to go. With one final sigh, you surrender to your devilish ways and lack of self-control -- it's time to get ready. You are slightly disappointed and somewhat proud that it only takes you ten minutes. You lost the battle. You always lose the battle. But, you are a weekend warrior who thrives on Fridays and Saturdays and you refuse to let this beautiful side of you go to waste. I mean, what good story ever came from staying in?
