"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is the new movie from DC Comics to be released. The movie starts out with Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) having one of many nightmare about his parents getting shot in front of him. Skipping forward into the movie where they have a kind of flashback to where Superman/Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) is fighting General Zod in the man of steel movie. In this scene Superman is seen smashing into one of Bruce Wayne's buildings, killing one of his employees inside. This is what put the fuel in the fire that starts his vendetta against Superman.
The movie revolves around Superman and the question of is he really needed? Is he a friend or a foe? They even hold a little hearing for him because of all the killing that he has supposedly carried out. Superman just can't win with the fact he has another "hero" after him and psychotic villain Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). In the end Batman and Superman kiss and make up and come together to fight this evil creature Lex Luthor created with the help of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot).
So here are my thoughts on the movie. Obviously this movie is the prequel to the Justice League movie. There were short appearances of Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg. And at the end Batman asks Wonder Woman to help him find the rest of the people like her. In my opinion (and I know I'm not the only person with this opinion) the movie title was very, very, very misleading. You would think there would be multiple fights between Batman and Superman and the age old question would be answered: who will win, god or man? But no, there was only one two and a half minute fight scene. Superman only fought Batman to rescue his kidnapped mom, so he was kind of forced to fight him. I think it would have been better if Superman wanted to actually fight Batman instead of being forced into it.
Secondly, I did not like this Batman. I mean Ben Affleck played the character and, well, I'd give him a 6/10. I did not like his character this time around. Since when did Batman brand people? And his voice! Ugh! That voice modifier was horrible. I did not like it. He and Alfred need to go back to the drawing board with that one. I didn't like his tactics either. Batman didn't even talk to Superman and hear what he had to say. He destroyed one building and it went all downhill from there. He also willingly killed people, that's definitely a huge change in him. So with all these dislikes about Batman I bet you're thinking, "There has to be something you liked about him." Well there is. In the end he admitted his guilt to Wonder Woman about Superman at his "funeral" saying, " I failed him in life and I won't fail him in death," which prompts him to ask for her help in finding the others.
So if you think Superman actually died, I mean seriously died, just because they had a "funeral" ... you're sadly mistaken. If this movie is the prequel to the Justice League then you kind of need Superman, since he is one of the founders. Just saying Bae is not dead #TeamSuperman. "Justice League Part One" is scheduled for a November 17th, 2017 release date. Hopefully Alfred has that voice modifier fixed by then.
