Are "Batman & Robin" and "Superman IV: The Quest For Peace" two sick flicks?

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is out after three long years! In honor of this, I am going to review the two worst (at least in my opinion) movies in each franchise: "Batman & Robin" and "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace." Because no matter how you feel about "Batman Vs Superman," it is for sure better then these two piles of trash!

Let's start with the infamous "Batman & Robin!" (Starring: George Clooney, Arnold Schwaezenger, and Uma Thuman. Directed by: Joel Schumacher)

Starting out: This movie has what may be one of the most awkward opening shots ever, featuring really zoomed in shots of Batman and Robin's, umm...crotch and butt.

Yes, this is how the movie starts, ladies and gentlemen!

Oh, how I wished all comic book movies started this way. It can dramatically set the tone for a truly epic story! Now, if that wasn't bad enough, the first lines of dialogue are not much better. The Batmobile rises up from the ground, all shiny with neon lights everywhere, and the first set of lines that comes out of Robin's mouth is "I want a car, chicks dig the car" and is proceeded with Batman saying "This is why Superman works alone." Now, wait for just a second! Not only are these lines just plain dumb, nowhere in the previous films refers to any other heroes living in this universe. So all of the sudden, Superman exist in this world! What?! This line is proof that, when developing this movie, they did not give any thought to the details.

Next up, we get the first "action scene." I use the word "action" very loosely. Mr. Freeze (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) is robbing an ice-covered museum of all their diamonds. So far, so mediocre...then Batman swoops in and rides a dinosaur statue down its back and on its tail (just like Fred Flintstone) saying, "Hey Freeze, I'm Batman." Mr. Freeze then proceeds to say two of the many ice puns used the movie: "Ice to see you" and "What killed the dinosaurs? The ice age!"

Yes. Approximately, every six seconds Mr. Freeze says a really bad "dad joke" about ice. Awesome.

When Mr. Freeze gives his terrible pun, a bunch of his minions appear. Batman and Robin then do what they do: they lay on their backs as ice skates come out from their shoes.

Yes, ice skates. Why do Batman and Robin have ice skates on their shoes? I do not have the answer. Especially since Batman met Mr. Freeze about 60 seconds prior. Anyways, the following scene seems like something you would watch at Six Flags. You're walking around at Six Flags and you see a "Batman on Ice" action show on the map. This is what the entire movie scene is like! It is almost like this movie is a really long commercial for Batman and Robin toys, with the neon, flashing lights everywhere and colorful costumes and cars, every shot in this movie was made to sell toys!

Don't believe me? This is a direct quote from the movie itself from one of the movies villains Poison Ivy, "I'm a lover, not a fighter, that is why every Poison Ivy action figure comes with him! *points to Bane, another villain*" Is that supposed to be a real line? At that point, I was imaging small letters popping up at the bottom of the screen telling me where I can find the latest "Batman & Robin" toys!

Honestly, I could talk about how unbelievable this movie is all day: from Batman having an actual Batman Credit Card, to Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) acting like a crazy psycho the whole movie, to the villain's plans to cover the world in ice while also having the world overtaken with Poison Ivy's plant creatures. Also Batgirl's horrible-looking costume and George Clooney's attempt to play one of the most iconic characters ever. I'll stop there.

I sat their in total disbelief that this actually was made. But since "BVS" also has Superman I put myself through another interesting experience in "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" (Starring: Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, and Margot Kidder. Directed by Sidney J. Furie)

Apparently, this movie had, at least, 30 minutes of the cut out of it and I believe it. This isn't so much a full-length movie, but more of a string of scenes cut together. An example of this is this iconic flying shot. They reused this shot over and over again in different locations more than five times in the movie, with different green screen backgrounds. As if we wouldn't notice it was the exact same shot used 100 times in the movie.

I also want to talk about this scene where Lex Luthor escapes out of jail with the help of his really annoying nephew, Lenny. So Lex Luthor is standing in the work field with all the other prisoners when Lenny drives up in his car. The cops get in the car and Lenny uses a remote control to drive the two cops off a cliff. Now, I know this movie is about Superman, but the two police officers survive the 200-foot tall fall in a car that explodes! They clearly have super powers two; what's their story?

This film is filled with things that don't make sense. Like Superman's hair being in a museum holding a 1,000 pound weight, and Lex just cuts it with a regular pair of bolt cutters! Also, Superman getting rid of the world's nuclear weapons by putting all the bombs into a net and throwing it into the sun. I'm not a scientist but I'm pretty sure just throwing hundreds of nuclear warheads into the sun is a really bad idea!

Another point about this movie I cringed at, was the heavy exposition they lay out for you. Everyone in this movie is like "This is what you need to know about the movie for it to make sense because you clearly won't understand what's going on unless I say every little detail to your face." And don't get me started on the random Superman powers like wall building, and staring at things until they disappear power. When this movie wasn't busy "not making sense," it was just really boring. With Superman trying to be Superman and Clark at the same time, and scenes with Lois Lane hinting at she knows that Clark is also Superman, but minutes later acting like she hasn't a clue that Clark and Superman are the same person. This movie is just choppy, and frankly way too boring to be a superhero flick!

In conclusion, I could have had written forever on these two films, but to sum it up, "Batman & Robin" is so ridiculous and over the top, I fail to see how anyone in the production thought any of it was a good idea. In fact, the director, Joel Schumacher, publicly apologized for the movie! And "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" is just sad, really, really sad.

If you're new to my rating methods, I will now break down how "sick" this movie is.

1. "Pass this film" Never see this movie, even if your life depends on it!

2. "Guilty pleasure" This movie is fun or entertaining but not necessarily a good movie.

3. "Redbox it" Good, but not worth spending money at the theaters.

4. "Buy it on Blu-ray" Really good movie and worth seeing in theaters if you get the chance!

5. "Get in line now!" Watch this movie as soon as possible, get in line at the theater, or immediately buy it on Blu-ray or DVD. You have to see this movie!

So how sick are these two flicks?

I give both "Batman & Robin" and "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" a 1. "Pass this film"

Never see these movies unless you have to. Trust me, I almost lost my sanity watching these two films, back-to-back!

So no matter whether you loved, or hated "Batman Vs Superman", we all can agree that it's miles better than this movie!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
