Oh, the magic of Bath & Body Works.
They are responsible for the smell of a generation. Ladies ranging from the smallest of tots to adult women smile when the store is mentioned, and all have owned or will own at least one scent in the form of a lotion, shower gel or body mist. Entering the white wood-paneled, gingham-laden store stocked full of delicious scents inspires fond memories, and the store has been widely regarded as a feminine wonderland since its inception in 1990.
How could this lovely place get any better, you ask? By throwing back to six of their most popular scents from the '90s and early 2000s.
Due to high customer demand, Juniper Breeze, Pearberry, Plumeria, Cucumber Melon, Country Apple and White Tea & Ginger will be making a reappearance during the month of June. They will all be sold in the forms of body cream, body lotion, body mists and shower gels.
Even better, the company has totally redone the packaging on these oldies-but-goodies to keep their appearance more in line with the packaging of their newer products. The sleek new metallic packaging looks incredibly chic and certainly more up-to-date than the old, white plastic packaging.
Lately, it seems like everyone has been yearning for the golden years at the turn of the century. Other companies have brought back older products with older packaging. Recently, Herbal Essences reintroduced their Smooth & Shine Collection (y’all remember the pink and yellow shampoo?).
Great news, right? But with every piece of good news comes a little bad news. The bad news is that this Bath & Body Works renaissance will be short-lived. Starting June 8, the revamped products will be available for one month and one month only.
My advice to those trying to capture the nostalgia of our childhoods through scent? Stock up. Stock up now, stock up a lot, and don’t regret it.
