When scrolling through your guy friend’s Instagrams, there seems to be a theme: every guy has the same 11 photos on rotate. While you all may not realize this immediately, these are the top photos that you will find on your daily Insta scroll.

1. The fish pic

Every basic white boy has this pic. There he is, on some lake in the summertime, wearing a cutoff t-shirt, holding a fish that he caught. The best part about this pic is that you'll find multiple copies of this pic on their account.

2. The casual shirtless pic

Another obligatory picture for the white boy that can come in many forms. In this pic, he’s probably wearing his Ray Bans… most definitely shirtless, tan and holding a beer. You go boy, rock those American flag chubbies.

3. The cigar pic

A total classic. He’s puffing on a cigar with his dad/brothers/friends, probably at his high school graduation. Did he even graduate if he didn’t Insta a cigar pic?

4. The fam pic

No basic white boy’s Instagram is complete without the fam pic. Show us how caring and compassionate you are with a pic of you and your fam. Too cute.

5. The bro pic

Ah the bro pic, my personal favorite. It’s best if this photo is a selfie, preferably taken in your friend’s basement or on your boat. #brosforlife

6. The frat house pic

Basic white boys love to post a pic of their frat house on their Instagram. You’ll always find a pic of the outside of the house lit up for the holidays and a picture taken inside during one of their ragers.

7. The sunset pic

Everyone loves a good sunset pic: especially white boys. The photo is not complete without the ‘nofilter’ hashtag

8. The sports pic

A must have for the basic white boys. Whether it’s a picture of him winning his high school lacrosse championship or a mid-shot game; you’ll find this pic on every basic white boy’s Instagram

9. The dog pic

Every basic white boy has a picture of his dog on Instagram. The dog is so cute and the fact that he captioned it ‘my favorite girl’ makes it even cuter. #awhe

10. The baby pic

Basic white boys love the #tbt baby pic. EvenHey ___!

11. The mom pic

Everyone knows that a good boy loves his mother. What better way to show their appreciation than to post a pic on Instagram?

Boys, please keep posting these pictures. We, basic white girls of Instagram, are also guilty of posting the same pictures over and over.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
