A Basic Sorority Girls Thank You Letter To Her Big

"In the middle of my LITTLE mess, I forgot how BIG I'm blessed."

You have become one of the most important people I've met in college thus far. I've never looked up to or respected a young woman more than you. You are by far the most successful, beautiful, and strong-willed Phi Mu lady I know (and that means a lot cause Phi Mu ladies rock).

Thank you for being the best big a little could have.

Thank you for spoiling me to pieces; I mean you even got me a chocolate milkshake and left it in the freezer.

Thank you for helping me fall in love with Phi Mu during Rush week, and more in love with it every day after that.

Thank you for not blowing me off when I told all my friends "that's the super sweet girl I talked to during recruitment" at Fall Frenzy.

Thank you for being different enough from me to help me better myself, but alike enough to me to not ever let me feel alone.

Thank you for loving me like the little sister I am to you.

Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on.

Thank you for having your life together because God knows I don't (okay sometimes you don't either, but mostly you do).

Thank you for loving Chick-Fil-A as much as I do.

Thank you for driving all the way to my hometown in the middle of nowhere just to decorate my room.

Thank you for the endless lettered tanks that I wear every day.

Thank you for being such a great role model for me, mentally, emotionally, and physically cause you hawt.

Thank you for putting me in my place when I need it (which is often).

And thank you for also letting me be there for you when you just put way too much on your plate.

Thank you for showing me what it's like to give back to the chapter that's given you so much and how to be a respected sister in your sorority.

Thank you for making time for me in your busy life, and even going around my busy life.

Thank you for loving the boys I love (and hating them when I hate them).

Thank you for not laughing at that ugly picture I tried to paint you during big/little week.

Thank you for making me feel like real phamily in such a short amount of time.

Thank you for the unconditional love.

Thank you for practicing day by day, love, honor, truth, thus keeping true to the meaning, spirit, and reality of Phi Mu. Thank you every day for being such a great soul and choosing me as your little. You're everything I hope to be and more. You've brought so much positivity and happiness into my life, and you look bomb in pink, every color actually.

My big da best big. Love you Jill!

Here's to you, here's to me. Big and little we'll always be.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
