The weather is (finally) starting to get cooler, the leaves are starting to change color, and the pumpkin spice latte is finally back at Starbucks. It is the most basic and wonderful time of the year! Just like you, I love taking photos in blanket scarves and brand-new sweaters that I bought when it was 90 degrees outside. Here are some tips for the best and most basic fall ever!
Go pumpkin picking
It’s the most perfect fall activity. You can walk around the pumpkin patch and experience nature. Don’t forget to grab yourself a glass of cider and take a cute pic for Instagram. After all, if you go to a pumpkin patch and don’t Instagram it, did you even go?
Make your Halloween Pinterest board
Halloween may be the best part of fall. Between the decorations, the parties, and the costumes, it's hard not to love Halloween. If you're planning a group costume, you better get on that right away. Hop onto Pinterest, and start searching things like “costumes,” “DIY,” and “college.” You will surely find a costume that your whole group, regardless of artistic ability, will be able to make.
Start baking all the pumpkin things
For weeks, you’ve seen recipes on Buzzfeed, Pinterest, and Facebook advertising fall’s most important ingredient, the pumpkin. Now that it has started to cool off and rain almost every weekend -- we live in Ohio after all -- you can spend your Saturday afternoons baking everything-under-the-sun pumpkin. Your roommates and friends will love you until they can’t stop eating all the pumpkin treats you keep churning out.
Go sweater shopping
You may have started on your new fall wardrobe back in August when it was too hot to think, but there’s always room for some new additions now that the weather is more crisp. Check out the local shops like Apple Tree and Blutique for some unique fall finds.
