Summer is almost over, which means that the beloved Vans Warped Tour is coming to an end as well. With so many amazing bands that were on the traveling festival (Sum 41, State Champs, Sleeping With Sirens and Good Charlotte to name a few), one can’t help but already wonder who’s going to be on the list for next summer. Some of our favorites may return from this years or past, or we may get some brand new bands who have never been on the tour. Here are some bands for Kevin Lyman to consider.
1. Modern Baseball
These guys definitely know how to bring in a crowd, and if you don’t believe me, then why are they going on tour with Brand New in the fall? Hm? Exactly.
2. Knuckle Puck
Although I was bummed that I missed these guys this year at Warped, I’m sure they brought in a huge crowd. They’re one of those classic pop punk bands that you can’t help but dance along too. Why not have them around for a third year in a row, right?
3. I Prevail
Newly added to the Fearless Records family, these guys can remind you a lot of A Day To Remember. They broke out with a cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Spance,” and it was so good that Fearless signed them and they rereleased Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 6 with the cover on it. If that’s not a good sign, then I don’t know what is.
4. Neck Deep
Again, another pop punk band, but isn’t that what Warped is all about? Neck Deep are shew ins for one of the bigger stages, and since their sophomore album did so well, why not share the magic of it all summer long?
5. Broadside
Last pop punk band, I swear (maybe), but Broadside seem to be gaining more and more attention every day, and they’ve proven their success on Warped this summer. I’m also bummed I didn’t get to see them too this summer, so I need a second chance.
6. A Day To Remember
These guys are just such a classic for Warped that the list wouldn’t be complete without them. With a new album on the way, there’s bound to be a headlining tour, but it would be really cool to see these guys take the stage on Warped again.
7. CHVRCHES
I’m not entirely sure if CHVRCHES have been on Warped before, but their music would be a nice mix into the bunch. The pop/electro group have been getting more and more popular lately, and have even teamed up with Paramore’s Hayley Williams for a song, so there’s a chance that they could bring in a nice crowd.
8. LANY
I just started listening to their band, and if you like The 1975, you’ll like them. They’re a pretty chill rock group and sometimes shows like Warped need something like this to spice things up. Obviously they would be on one of the smaller stages since they’re not that well known, but passer byers will really enjoy them.
9. Pvris
Pvris create insanely catchy music, Lynn Gunn is just an amazing person, and the band know how to put on a show. Enough said.
10. Weezer
(I don’t have anything to say about this band. The name is enough
of a reason to be on Warped.)
