The "Sharknado" Series Is A Great Way To Introduce Yourself To Horror/Gore

I hate movies that are all about the gore, but I can watch "Sharknado" because it's so bad that it's funny.

With October and Halloween season coming up, it's time for everyone to get prepped with the month of horror movies. "Sharknado" is a series that's popular on the SYFY channel. Its every SYFY that you see on that channel because it has class B actors and over editing on the animation. The series was a great way for other actors to get experience in the movie industry. For instance, "Dance Moms" lead character Abby Lee is in the 5th movie. "Sharknado" has a total of 6 movies with the final installment just released this past Sunday (August 19th, 2018). With its bad acting and over animation, it's a great movie to get you started in the horror category with October coming up.

I love classic horror. I grew up watching Vincent Price's movies and the other horror movies. My mom was all for sticking to the theme. Whenever we would have a chance, we would watch a horror movie during the month of October. "Sharknado" happens to be one of my mom's favorite movie series. She enjoys the bad acting and computer-generated blood on the screen. The "Sharknado" series is a big laugh and worth watching if you enjoy poking fun at bad acting and bad computer graphics. Whenever a shark falls on a person, the blood spatter looks like it comes out of a video game. The gore looks more realistic when the camera gets an up close shot of the different things that get killed. The mix of makeup and computer-generated blood spatter is enough for you not to get that knot in your stomach.

Some people aren't meant to enjoy horror but if you are ready to tackle the gore horror films then go towards "Sharknado." You should force yourself too much, but if you want it then pursue it. Horror movies can take some getting used to due to the nature of the movies. Horror movies are meant to trigger the imagination and make you feel like you are never alone/ watch your back. Classic horror movies always make you feel something. As the years go by, we've become smarter in our movie making. What scared us back then probably doesn't scare us as much now. There will be some themes that will live on forever and others that we've grown past.

"Sharknado" is a great series to get to know the horror movies without going into the classics. It's how some actors got some experience in the movie industry. The lines aren't deep for the extras/secondary characters. It truly is a stereotypical SYFY movie with the bad acting and the over animating graphics. The gore looks computer generated the majority of the time even the makeup does a better job of making it look realistic. With October coming up, this series is a great way to start diving into the horror season. Don't forget to grab a cup of hot chocolate and a warm blanket while watching the movie in case you can't handle it. Sometimes you can't handle horror and that's okay.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
