Did summer even happen?

Guys! August is almost here which means that the school year is slowly approaching. It feels like summer just started last week. I hope that you all have had fun and exciting summer filled with memories and adventure because I spent the most of mine working and dealing with angry customers. Anyways, the school year is basically upon us and we are all feeling some type of way. So here are the feelings we are going through according to the cast of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine!"

1. Feeling like you didn't accomplish anything over the summer

We all so many plans over the summer. Whether to workout out and finally get those abs or to write that book you've been working on for 5 years. It could have been a trip you were planning or finding yourself in nature. Whatever it is, you always have next summer to do all that!

2. Going back to school shopping and realizing you are not mentally ready

School was just a distant memory but now it's slapping your face trying to get your attention. School is here and it is ready for you. You know you're not actually super ready but school won't let you go.

3. Remembering that you have an 8 a.m. class

What were you thinking?? Summer was the break before the school year so that was a future-you problem. Now it's a present-you problem. You are regretting everything and wanting to crawl into your bed and cry the night, and maybe day, away.

4. Seeing how much money you actually owe for the classes you're taking

You need to go to school so you can have a bright and successful future. Does it have to cost you an arm, a leg, and your first born? School is crazy expensive and when you see the bill you're going to be speechless. Hopefully, you worked as much as you could over the summer because all the money is going to that one bill.

5. Realizing you're going to see your friends again and have fun

The new school year means that you're going to be seeing all your friends again. You'll party, have fun, and make even more memories. School is still tough and hard but your friends will have your back.

6. Realizing you're going to be making up a lot of answers when professors call on you

Here's to late nights and long days filled with homework and studying. You should start thinking about fake answers to give your professors now because it always seems like they only pick you and you didn't even have your hand raised!

7. Realizing you made it this far

All in all, you made this far. You are in school becoming a better you. It's going to be tough and hard but you are trying your best. Before you know it, you'll graduate and go off to start the rest of your life.

School will be stressful no matter what. There will be heartbreak, stressful days and nights, tough professors, and tears but in the end, you will have learned a lot of valuable lessons. You will have been shaped into a more mature and better version of yourself. So here is to the future and what is in store for us.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
