Bachelorette of the Week: Megan Britt

Bachelorette of the Week: Megan Britt

This week's bachelorette is far from basic. Plus she's funny, artistic, and isn't afraid to make fun of herself and have a good time- even if that means demonstrating insect flight in front of an entire lecture. This girl isn't one to disappoint.

Name: Megan Britt
Year in School: Sophomore
Hometown: Brookfield, WI
Major: Art Education
Sorority: Kappa Kappa Gamma

1. What’s your favorite quality in a guy?
Well-balanced chill-to-pull ratio.

2. Describe your ideal date.
Anything adventurous and outdoorsy: hiking, fishing, snowboarding, kayaking, skydiving…you name it. [because dinner and a movie would be wayyy too basic]

3. If you had to participate in any reality show which one would you choose?
America’s Funniest Home Vids; debuting the various ways I succeed in publicly embarrassing myself on the daily.

4. If you could only bring 3 things to a deserted island what would you bring?
SPF 100 (ginger solutions), endless Toppers pizza, and my brother.

5. Where can you be found on a Friday night?
Beyond ending my night at Doba… the limit does not exist!

6. What event would you go to the Olympics for (actual event or create your own)?
Olympic drawing and painting (sports are not in my repertoire.)

7. What’s the most spontaneous thing you've ever done
Probably the time I decided that I aspired to be the next Shaun White (circa age 12) and fractured my tailbone in an effort to take on the terrain park rails. Classic!

8. What’s your worst habit?
Procrastination/all-nighters.

9. Biggest turn off?
Stage five clingers. Also, cat people.

10. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
Colorado, and eventually London (dream big).

11. If you had a yacht what would you name it?
I’d probably go with something kreative, such as “The KK” (Kollege water-Kraft)!

12. Would you rather have to fight 1,000 duck-sized horses or 3 horse-sized ducks?
Pass. I’m a lover, not a fighter.

13. If you had to pick one U.S. state to get rid of which one would it be and why?
New Jersey. The people there are really touchy about their bagels!

14. What was your best tweet?
"Called out for talking in class & was forced to demonstrate insect flight (wings included) in front of my entire lecture” (See included picture)

15. Anything else you want people to know about you?
Among my extensive list of endearing qualities, I’m also completely tone-deaf, I laugh in my sleep and I blindly follow my daily horoscopes.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
