We all get ourselves in sticky situations from time to time and run into someone we've been avoiding. Ever think to yourself, "Uh oh, what now?" Just follow the five rules of dodgeball, and you can get yourself out of any awkward situation. The rules are, of course, dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge.
Dodge. You're walking down the street and you see the one person you have been avoiding for years. What do you do? Dodge into a conversation with your friends, so you don't feel like you need to carry a conversation once you make eye contact.Duck. When you see that person across the street, duck down and pretend like you're tying your shoes. This is perfect, because you can pretend like you're oblivious to his or her existence.
Dip. You spot that person. Dip out of the way, making a B-line in the opposite direction.
Dive. The second you see him or her, dive into someone's arms near you. Hopefully you're next to your friend on this one, or else you're just making the awkward situation that much worse.
Dodge. See previous "dodge."
Disclaimer: The five rules of dodgeball don't apply to every situation, so please don't try using these on the daily.
