Why my Aunt is like a mother to me.

Why my Aunt is like a mother to me.

" Aunts and Nieces, there is something you must know. As time flies and years pass by, their love tends to grow. In the grueling journey of life, when everything else withers away, an Aunt and Nieces bond, is something that will always stay."

Aunt,

I might not tell you every day or often like I should, but in this crazy life I wouldn't want anyone else to guide me but you. You have not only been a rocking' Aunt since I can only remember, but you also took on a role of being my mother... and trust me I can be the one to tell you that it inst always the easiest task to take on, but you defiantly know how to work it. From being a four-year-old in the back seat of your car eating vanilla ice cream covered in sprinkles, to now almost 16 years old with an attitude from God knows where, I wouldn't want anyone else to have dealt with me back then and now the way you have. So here are some things I think you should know..

1. You are the reason I wake up with a smile every day.

2. You Support me no matter what.

Whether it is with school, friends, boys, or cheer, I know that no matter what you will always back me up and support me. You always give me some great advice and know just the right things to say to impact my decisions.

3. I am so thankful for you.

Without you, I wouldn't be this amazing person I am today. I am so thankful that you've taught me right from wrong. You have shaped me into the person I am today, pulling me from wrong and pushing me towards right. I am walking in your footsteps to be successful. You are my role model and I am so incredibly thankful for everything you do and that I have you in my life at all.

Most importantly...

You were there for me when nobody else was. At my lowest point, you were there comforting me and there to build me back up. Without you in my life, God only knows where I would be today. You have given me everything and anything I could possibly want/need. Everything in my life.. is because of you. There are not enough words in this world for me to describe to you how much I love you or how much I appreciate everything you do for me, but realize that it is a lot. I love you.

"Only an aunt can give hugs like a mother, keep secrets like a sister, and share love like a friend."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
