Who doesn't want to be the very best that no one ever was? I certainly want to become a Pokemon master and now that is finally possible, sort of. Many people are becoming excited with this new app, because they get to follow their dreams -- nay, their destiny -- to become a Pokemon master. In addition, "Pokemon Go" is a very high-quality and fun app.
The app uses a GPS connection to track your location, and certain buildings, parks, and other places become gyms and pokestops. I was so surprised to find out that one of my favorite parks to hang out is actually the site of a Pokemon gym! Who would've thought. The game developers even went so far as to include the fact there was fountain and lake nearby, and also informational signs of invasive species which are found throughout the trails. I am definitely impressed with the quality of this app. While it is not perfect (but what is?), I do not have any major complaints. It is even making Pokemon lovers who would rather be cooped up in their gaming caves go outside into the real world and walk around. And did I mention the app is free, unlike the pricey video game cartridges and downloads? There's that too.
In the midst of all this poke-hype, people will go great lengths and take crazy chances to catch 'em all. Sometimes crazy and dangerous things can happen while people are literally chasing their dreams. It is important to stay alert and aware of your surroundings even though you're trying to catch that Bulbasaur in the middle of the street. On the crazy end of things, one girl's Pokemon catching quest led her to find a dead body in a lake while she was looking for some water types. Talk about spooky. I bet there would be some ghost-type Pokemon there.
Here are some more fun and humorous things that "Pokemon Go" is causing:
People are going places just to catch a Pokemon
People are going outside and walking around more
I'm always for something that encourages physical activity. Also, getting some sun and vitamin D while playing Pokemon is a good way to lure indoorsy folks outside to get some fresh air. Although, don't forget about cool animals outside, which are actually there.
People are out and about at absurd hours
Do whatever it takes. This one gal or fella especially has what it takes to become a Pokemon master. I applaud you.
Socialization with other people is happening
"Hello, I know we've never met before, but there is a cute Pokemon somewhere in your house and I really want to catch it. May I come it?"
Magikarps are hanging out in the streets!
Magikarp, you are a fish. There is not a body of water within at least a mile of here. What are you doing? You had one job.
The game can help attract customers to your business
Many small businesses have been taking advantage of the "Pokemon Go" craze by making their business a pokestop. Doing so will attract many people to at least go to your store to pick up some more pokeballs and other items. As many of you may know, Pokemon trainers are very dedicated individuals who take any opportunity to get more experience and get one step closer to master status. Even if the Pokemon trainers don't buy anything from the store, there will be more people there which may attract other non-Pokemon trainers to the store because it looks popular. It's a win-win for all.
The game makes people of all ages very happy
I mean, come on, who couldn't be happy when you see this cute little floof hopping around on your phone screen? Also, for people who have played Pokemon games beforehand, "Pokemon Go" brings it all to life. But What if Pokemon always existed around us in the real world, but we can only see them through our smartphones?
These are only some of the things that "Pokemon Go" has caused, along with giving us the opportunity to see "real-life" Pokemon trainers roam the streets -- It's quite entertaining (and I'm one of them). Gotta catch 'em all.
