friendship
ˈfren(d)SHip/
noun
- the emotions or conduct of friends; the state of being friends
The dictionary definition of friendship is so bland, and truly doesn’t encompass what it means. But there can’t be just one definition of friendship. Friendship is something that you cannot just define, it’s the actions and the memories made. So I decided to ask people of all ages to tell me what friendship means to them…
Friendship means...
“So much love and encouragement. Knowing when you’re having a bad day and understanding when you don’t want to be talking about it”
“being able to laugh and make memories and inside jokes”
“Someone who brings something into my life in which I can learn from and simulate from, and I do the same for them”
“When you say you have no money for food and they say they got you”
“when you laugh till you cry and you cry till you laugh and you get in fights but it’s okay because at the end of the day you know that those people will be there for you through thick and thin”
“accepting other for the way they are and being understanding”
“sharing laughs and cries together, even if you are not physically together”
“having a support system to tell you when you’re wrong but to support you no matter what. to always be honest and true and to never get mad at you for things beyond your control. friendship should be based off trust and love and not petty arguments and hatred”
“a human who I feel brings something into my life in which I can learn from and stimulate from, and I do the same for them.”
“the people we chose to be our second family”
“being able to know what each other is thinking without actually speaking it.”
“just getting in the car, and driving to listen to music”
“pure acceptance”
“when one commits their time to your happiness, share common values, and only have a good influence on you.”
“a shoulder to cry on, a person to roast and a person to trust”
“having a person, you can go to in times of struggle that will support you and help you get through it."
