"What is one life lesson you will never forget?"

Each direction you turn, life awaits a new lesson for you. Whether they are learned the hard way or through experience, each lesson is so valuable in how you handle decisions. I sent out a form to anonymous users asking them about the most unforgettable life lesson they are going to carry with them forever. To those who are reading this article, I hope you can take something away from these lessons and hopefully apply them to your lifestyle.

These are the responses I received:

1. To treat others as you would like to be treated

2. If you love someone, protect your heart. They may not feel the same way about you. Never push yourself to try to make someone feel the the way you do

3. You can't control someone else's addictions

4. Never lie. If you don't want to talk about something, don't talk about it

5. Just because you seem "right" for someone, doesn't mean they are "right" for you. It took me a while to learn this, I was in a past relationship and all of our friends thought I was good for him. He wasn't good for me though, and it turned into an unhealthy and borderline abusive relationship

6. Past mistakes do not define who you are!!

7. Be happy

8. Be kind to everyone

9. Realizing what I deserve

10. Love, accept, and respect yourself. Know that everyone is different and that is a good thing.

11. Some of the best things happen in your life when you’re not looking for them to happen!

12. I should have read books a lot more when I was young. Now, I wish I could get into reading more but it’s difficult to. I definitely wish I would have gotten in the habit of picking up a book instead of my phone

13. That to be happy with yourself, you have to learn to let go of all the hate and sad feelings in your life and just live one day at a time

14. Learning that the hardest times will eventually pass if you have the mindset to change the negativity into positivity

15. Always tell someone you love them and never be afraid of your feelings. You never know when the last time you speak to someone will be

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
