It appears Ashley Graham can't seem to catch a break. People either criticize her for being too fat, or for being too skinny. When she first started in the plus size modeling business, people said she was too fat and needed to lose weight. Well now that she has lost weight and actually looks better than ever, people are saying she is too skinny. The point is, why should it matter if she's skinny or fat? She is a beautiful plus size model, everything she has done for plus size women is amazing. She is not only giving plus size individuals more confidence but she is changing the way people view plus size women.
Here is Ashley Graham on the cover of Sports Illustrated 2016:
For years nobody ever saw plus size women on covers of magazines. Simply because many people think of models as only being a size 2. People need to realize that not everybody is going to be a size 0 or 2. Now, when you're in line at publix you see plus size models on the front covers of magazines. Although, there will always be individuals who will probably never accept plus size models.
We live in a world where people care more about appearances than the individual person. Ashley Graham along with other plus size models aren't just models, they are actual human beings with feelings. Imagine if that was you on the cover of magazines and people only cared about your size. The point is, why should people be judged and criticized because of the way they look? Imagine if we lived in a world where everybody looked the same, how boring would that be?
Nobody is perfect, everyone has flaws and things that they don't like about themselves. The point being that we should embrace our flaws, and instead of bringing each other down, we should lift each other up.
