College As Told By "F.R.I.E.N.D.S."
The Telegraph

From the second you walk into your dorm room until you cross the stage at graduation, college is filled with a roller coaster of emotions. You never know what you’re going to get. Half the time you feel like you have it all figured out, and the next moment, you’re in situations like these:

You wake up, go to class, and still have no idea what’s going on. You try to explain to people how you’re doing, but it comes out in a jumble of nonsense.

Basically, this is the way you feel after every exam, drunken night, or text you send to a boy. Nothing beats the constant state of OMG.

The initial move into the dorms is easy because you have all the help from mom and dad. Come junior year, you think you can handle it on your own because you’re “an adult.” Ha. Right.

When you go to the Rec for the first time in a month, you feel unstoppable. You officially convince yourself you have become the Hulk and want everyone to feel your biceps. Your new favorite statement is “Mondays are leg day.”

You go out with the intentions of running into that cute frat guy, but without fail, the second you see your best friend, all bets are off and you instantly become “that girl.”

The way you feel when your friends tell your most embarrassing stories in front of people you just met.

When your best friend and her boyfriend are fighting and you just have to know who is winning.

Whenever you go out, you totally try and play it cool. You don’t want to seem desperate or too flirty. However, there will always be that one guy that gives you the feels.

You think you’re a young genius until you get into conversations about finance or econ. Then you kind of just nod and pretend to know what’s going on. Throw politics in there and it's game over.

And then, other times, you just have no idea about anything. Anything at all.

You will probably get to that point when you will literally bring up anything and everything in a fight just to win.

By senior year, you think you’re an expert on flirting, when really, you are probably still as awkward as you were freshman year. You’ve just learned how to hide it a little better.

You try to adult and make Thanksgiving special for you and your friends but…

You’ll never fully understand why the person you like doesn’t like you back. You’re a really cool person and don’t know how they don’t see it. Don't sweat it, just keep on keepin’ on.

Despite everything, cherish every second of your college years. Roll with the punches, dance on the tables, and be young and reckless with your best friends.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
