4 Things I Need To Know As Senior Year Begins And Summer Ends
Chelsea Wojciechowski

It is so sad that summer is coming to an end. All the adventures that have happened this summer will be things I will never forget. But now I have to get serious as it comes to my senior year in college. It flew by so quickly, my whole college career and I wouldn't change it for the world. But now I need to buckle down and figure out my life. Here are a few things I need to get in line before the year starts.

1. Start looking at places for my certificate.

For being a child life specialist, I need to go to another school for one more course I need to get my certificate. I need to start applying so I can do my observation hours in the hospital. Being a child life specialist means that I work with children in hospitals and play with them, or help them if they are scared. It will be a very rewarding job and a combination of the two majors I had before.

2. Thank my parents for everything.

My parents have done so much for me in the past 3 and half years while in school. I cannot thank them enough for being behind me in any decision that I have made. I knew all along they wanted my best interest in heart and would push me to be the best that I could be. College would not have been the same without them behind me.

3. Thank my sisters for believing in me.

My sisters' were my rock when I transferred from SHU to Rowan. They were the ones I was able to lean on when times got rough and not being at home. My life has completely changed because I met all these wonderful women who have helped me grow into who I am today. Life would be very different without my little and my Big (who has recently graduated from Sacred Heart!) Thanks again for being my home away from home.

4. Prepare to go into the real world.

My life has gone so quick in school. I love school and it will be sad to leave but I cannot wait to go into the real world. Yes, I know it will be tough in the beginning and that I will need my parents to help. But life will get better and I know that life will be great in the long run.

College is so great and I wish it did not fly by as fast as it did. But now it is time for me to get a job and to grow up. My life is great and I know that it will only get better from here.

"I've only slept nine hours over the past four days, so I'm right on the verge of a nervous breakdown." - Leslie Knope

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
