Whether it's been online or in person, most of us know the feeling of getting carried away in a political argument. And when we do, it usually looks something like this.
When someone says something offensive and you think, "Let it go. Don't say anything."
And then think, "Screw that. I'm gonna say something."
You start citing articles because you're a professional.
But then they say something that pushes you just a little too far.
So you slowly watch yourself become a monster.
And it's terrifying.
And exhausting.
After all is said and done, you tell yourself that you're going to avoid political arguments for a while.
But you know that's probably not true.
